Originally an early entry candidate for the 2005 NBA Draft before withdrawing his name from consideration. Participated in the 2005 NBA Pre-Draft Camp in Chicago.
Career Highlights: Named to The Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American team and First Team All-Big East as a senior. Named to the John Wooden All-American team. West Virginia’s sixth all-time leading scorer with 1,708 points.
Senior (2005-06): Led the team in scoring (19.3 ppg). Scored a season-high 34 points against Canisuis. Scored 20 or points 18 times. Averaged 17.0 points in three NCAA tournament games, including 19 in a three-point loss to Texas in the Sweet Sixteen.
Junior (2004-05): Scored in double figures 23 times. Scored 20 or more points six times. Had a game-high 24 points vs. Providence, 17 points against Boston College and 18 points against Villanova in the Big East Tournament. Named to the 2005 Big East All-Tournament Team. Hit six three-pointers for 25 points against Louisville in the NCAA Tournament.
Sophomore (2003-04): Had a season-high 24 points against Seton Hall and 22 points against Virginia Tech. Scored 16 points in NIT game against Rhode Island. Averaged team-high 12.3 points in conference play.
Freshman (2002-03): Named to the Big East All-Rookie team. Started all 29 games. Second on the team in scoring (11.6 ppg). Finished ninth in the Big East in blocks. Scored in double figures 16 times, including season-high 26 points against Rutgers.
Strengths: Terrific long-range shooter for his size. Can shoot with a hand in his face. Has improved his conditioning and mobility over the course of his college career
Personal: Son of Kevin and Tammy Pittsnogle. Majoring in athletic coaching education. Married on October 9, 2004 to Heather. Couple welcomed their first child in 2006.
