An early entry candidate for the 2006 NBA Draft.
Career Highlights: Played at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida before being declared academically ineligible after 14 games. Originally signed with Alabama State out of high school for the 2002-03 school year, but left the team before the season started. Returned home to Montgomery, where he worked hanging drywall while living in a one-room residence with his mother, brother, and sister. Was discovered playing in the evenings at a local recreation center and was recommended to Gulf Coast CC head coach Jim Hatfield.
Sophomore (2005-06): Averaged 21.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.4 blocked shots. Scored a season-high 32 points on 14-for-29 shooting vs. Jacksonville CC. Recorded 31 points vs. Seminole CC. Shot 5-for-13 from three-point range in scoring 31 points vs. Florida Prep. Scored 25 points on 9-for-15 shooting (including 3-for-6 from beyond three-point range) and grabbed nine rebounds vs. Vincennes. Posted 24 points, 12 rebounds, and a season-high six blocks vs. Lawson State CC. Pulled down a season-high 13 rebounds vs. Georgia Perimeter.
Strengths: According to his coach, is quick and runs the floor well for a big man. Length allows him to be an effective shot blocker. Can also step out and hit the perimeter jumper, including the college three-point shot.
